Tabot does not belong in the British museum

Tabot does not belong in the British museum
The Issue
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is a call to Orthodox Christians and friends around the world. Tabot represents the ark of the covenant and sanctifies a church. After the battle of makdela over 150+ years ago in Ethiopia, the British soldiers looted the surrounding villages and churches. Representatives of the British Museum bought many of these items and they were added to the now British Museum and British Library collections. Amongst the looted items there are 11 Tabots. The Tabots are currently stored in a small storage space without access to the public, away from orthodox Christians and from what they are intended for. British Museum recognizes the value of the Tabots and doesn’t intend to show them to the public. However, why would a museum keep items if they can’t be studied or displayed?
With a joint effort by the Ethiopian embassy and high-ranking clergy members, an official request for Tabots to be returned was submitted in 2018. However, that attempt was not fruitful, hiding behind the British museum act 1963 with its outdated and reaffirming colonial principles. The power and strength of the church are its followers. I am asking for us to unite and change history. Armed with your support the church hopes to establish contact and continue the good fight. Returned 11 Tabots mean potentially 11 different Churches for its followers.
