(And no this is not an April Fool's Joke, this is real.) We have just received confirmation that Love's Travel Stops, is NOT planning to implement paid parking spots on a corporate level. They also made a promise, in the beginning of this year, to add roughly 3,000 worth of parking spaces during 2018 at new Love's locations.
Here is what Jon Archard, Love’s vice president of sales, said:
"One of the reasons we’ve chosen to build new locations instead of acquire them is so we can maximize the number of truck parking spaces we can build. We are investing where we can to do our part to help solve the truck parking shortage the industry is experiencing right now. ELDs, hours of service changes and other regulations are putting more pressure of a driver’s time than ever before; everything is being affected by them Everyone would love to have a reserved parking space, but a willingness to pay for it is another matter. Right now our customers are telling us they don’t want to pay for parking so we’re not going to do that in a wide-scale manner.”
Thank you Jon Archard and Love's Truck Stops!
However, the fight is NOT over! The big four (Travel Centers of America, Petro, Pilot, and Flying J) are still adding reserved parking spaces at an alarming rate. If you have any suggestions on this petition process to not hesitate to leave us a message or email us at tarsmovement@gmail.com.
