I'm a member of the healthcare team at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Campus. Our campus currently only offers Pepsi products, causing an unanticipated inconvenience to our families, patients, and fellow staff members who prefer or specifically request Coca-Cola products.

Our patients often request Coca-Cola products by name. When they do, we feel the disappointment of having to inform them that we only serve Pepsi products. We believe that quality patient care encompasses all aspects of their stay with us, including meeting their preference for a Coke beverage.

Moreover, our coworkers, volunteers, and other dedicated personnel express their desire for the campus to switch to Coca-Cola products frequently. It’s their preference for refreshing themselves during their demanding workday or volunteering services.

According to a market research report from 2020, Coca-Cola held 43.7% of the total U.S. soft drink market, compared to PepsiCo's 24.1%. This illustrates Coke's broader appeal, which translates to our staff, volunteers, and patients. Our change to Coca-Cola products demonstrates our commitment to listening to the preferences of all individuals that make our healthcare community what it is.
