There is no memorial in Switzerland to remind the younger generations of the will of an entire people during the Second World War to remain free from the deadly effects of war.

With this initiative we express the wish that such a monument be dedicated to the person of its wartime general-in-chief Henri Guisan and built in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva, where his memory is most vivid.
