“In Bayonne High School (BHS), students were abruptly forced to switch uniform with very short notice. Students and parents do not agree with the recent change in uniform policy alongside feeling that the shirts are pricer than they should be. The kids were able to use a regular B shirt that included colors such as grey, white, black, maroon, etc. Now they’re limited down to 1 maroon shirt with a price that some cannot afford. Students are no longer allowed to wear anything obstructing the new uniform and can receive up to 10 days worth of suspensions. Parents and students have urged the Bayonne Board Of Education to allow kids to be able to wear their sweaters, hoodies, etc while also asking for cheaper alternative for the students and for those in need. Please help the students of BHS be able to wear previous uniforms, or at least be granted permission for more flexible clothing options.”
