Within 300 days, StepUp Foundation have conducted more than 400 awareness programs across Maharashtra to educate educated girls and women, which have been attended by over and above 35,000 plus local children and their parents. Through StepUp Foundation, our aim is to install Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines in every school, college, organization and at all right places where she can freely step up and get its advantage. Till date we have successfully installed over 60 Vending Machines across Maharashtra. We aim at- 1. Provide an awareness campaign on “Menstrual Hygiene Management where all local children aged 11-16 is welcome. 2. Encourage all the children to take part in to understand about “Menstruation process and also physical changes obtained and develop with healthy habits and lifestyles. 3. Provide an awareness focus for parents and children to talk together and encourage understanding the importance of this. 4. Provide particular support for families whose Girl children struggle with school, or have difficulty to purchased sanitary napkins, by linking children up with individual one-to-one volunteers who support them to access the sessions and build not to shy with other children. Our weekly sessions have become very important to those involved. One parent said “Taking part in Girl Child means that my Daughter had a chance to make Menstrual Period as a part of her life. She is sometimes bullied at school, and finds it hard to socialize. StepUp foundation has made her much happier and this has helped her confidence and she is now even enjoying school more during her periods also.” The founder of StepUp Foundation Mr Swapnil Shirsekar has done the right thing in the right way.
