YOUR Voice is impacting our City so let's amplify it together!

Thank you for signing our petition, and wanting to make a change by ensuring that the City recognizes that Community Consultations have a valid purpose in the development process and should be respected, as should we as proud citizens of Toronto. 

This affects every development across every Ward of the City, which is why contacting your Councillor and Mayor Chow will be helpful in asserting that your vote counts as do the rights and dignities of Swansea Village and every Community in the City like yours.  

https://www.SwanseaMatters.com  lays out the case as to what is happening regarding a proposal within the west end of our City, and how the former residents of a TCHC building that were evacuated under extreme duress have been marginalized alongside their neighbours and the entire neighbourhood.  That this micro-site had to be developed is because we are not being acknowledged.  Please help us to be heard !

If a Community Consultation means letting a few people know only five days prior to a wheelchair inaccessible grade school basement gathering, that was not organized properly, notes not taken, and dismissing that it will impact thousands of people within 500 metres of the site, then it would be the manner in which the City should operate CCs moving forward.  The Citizens of the City reject this though. 

In fact, given that the Milestone for Community Consultation didn't really take place, the Application to the City to rezone with site, which 'ticks the box' in this area, to suggest that it happened is unrealistic, and invalid and the Application should be withdrawn immediately until such time as a real Consultation process occurs. 

We citizens want accountability from our Elected Officials,  and that is why YOUR VOICE on this matter is essential to preserving facts vs. alternative facts, and ensuring that we are able to participate with the City in our rules based society which respects norms and values.  

Please share this petition, visit the website, contact your Councillor, The Mayor, your MPP and MP.  The City acknowledges that it needs funding from all levels of government and thus these partners need to be informed locally.
