Petition updateSW Town Council - Reverse Decision To Close "Country Collectables"The Walden Local and an SWTC statement

If you haven't read the Walden Local's article on Wednesday of last week you are not missing much. Please find it here:

The Local has printed, seemingly word for word a statement from SWTC accusing persons unknown of targeting SWTC with a campaign of harassment and intimidation.

The statement was not shown to Jacqui or I before publishing, unlike similar articles that we have submitted which the Local showed courtesy to SWTC by allowing them to make comments before publication.

The statement is extremely ambiguous and does not name me or Jacqui as the performers of the aforementioned harassment and intimidation. The idea is ludicrous, however it is a legal matter now because this is defamation of character without clarification.

I have formally written to Councillor Paul Gadd, Leader of SWTC, and the Walden Local to demand that a retraction or clarification is issued or my solicitor will be in touch.

It is particularly odd I find that Councillor Paul Gadd, has himself been found guilty of making vexatious information requests to a public body. In the 9 Dec 2020 publication, the Walden Local reported: "In 2014, costs were awarded against Cllr Gadd following a spate of unnecessary FOI requests to UDC. The Judge in awarding those costs found that he had unreasonably brought the proceedings, and had shown a lack of judgement and self-control."
