I have been asked to make a correction by Saffron Walden Town Council to some comments I made about minutes being withheld in this matter.

SWTC advise that minutes were not withheld, and they have complied fully with their legal obligation to publish all agendas and minutes on their website. When I said the minutes were withheld it was bad choice of language, what I meant is the discussion regarding Jacqui's pitch has not been minuted on the document, aside from to record the decision taken. 

SWTCs reasoning for this is provided as:

"There was a confidential report presented to Committee and the reason for retaining that as confidential is that it potentially identified individual(s) by dint of their position(s) on the market; it was wholly inappropriate for the Town Council to put this information in the public domain."

We have 170 signatures as of this morning from concerned residents.
