Sustainable Farming & Permaculture Education in SW Ohio

Sustainable Farming & Permaculture Education in SW Ohio
The Issue
The Indigo Permaculture Ecosystems Resilience Model (PERM) was birthed in 2017 by enthusiasts—environmentalists, educators, and community leaders—who felt the urgency for positive change amid pressing issues of environmental degradation, economic instability, food insecurity and social inequity in rural and rural adjacent regions. Understanding the transformative power of Permaculture principles, the idea of Indigo PERM emerged as a necessity.
Our mission is to champion the cause of sustainable farming and permaculture education in Southwestern Ohio, instilling responsibility towards Mother Earth among individuals. Through community-oriented projects, we aim to renovate and strengthen natural ecosystems by emulating successful initiatives across urban, suburban, and rural landscapes. Our methodology has a holistic outlook, founded on critical Permaculture principles, and stresses on wetland restoration, habitat preservation, and stream conservation to elevate water quality, fortify flood control measures, and encourage biodiversity.
According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, a well-managed agro-ecosystem not only provides food, but also supports vital ecosystem services. Our programs incorporate these strategies, offering realistic solutions to environmental and food-security issues in our communities. Implementing these practices will surely encourage sustainable living, environmental stewardship, and resilience in Southwestern Ohio and beyond.
Tangible change begins with you. By signing this petition, you'll play a vital role in influencing decision-makers to support and implement our agenda. Your voice can propel us towards our goal of a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient Southwestern Ohio. Join us in honoring the legacy of our future generations, as they will reap the benefits of the seeds we sow today. Please sign our petition and help us inspire a greener world!
