Suspend Violent Officer from Baltimore City Police Force Indefinitely

The Issue

I am writing this with a heart full of distress and a resolve to seek justice for my disabled son and his best friend who were brutally attacked on April 4, 2025. My son, living with cerebral palsy and having a partially amputated foot, was mercilessly beaten by the trained MMA fighter son of Calvin Patrick Moss, an officer serving the Baltimore City Police Force. Calvin, instead of stopping the barbarity, exacerbated the situation by violently body slamming my son's 14-year-old friend to the ground and holding him captive, while his son continued their despicable act. Both boys gasped for help, their airways restricted to the point they could have died.

The city of Baltimore is unfortunately not unfamiliar with cases of police misconduct. A DOJ investigation in 2016 revealed that BPD engages in a pattern or practice of conduct that violates the Constitution or federal law. It included excessive force, unconstitutional stops, searches, and arrests (source: Civil Rights Division, DOJ). We need systemic changes that root out any trace of such violent tendencies from our peacekeeping forces.

It is with this in mind that I urge the continuous suspension of officer Calvin Patrick Moss from active service. Society entrusts him with a position of authority and power. It is despicable that he exploits it to inflict harm on innocent children, especially those with disabilities.

Let us galvanize our community to stand against such acts of violence by those who are supposed to protect us. His egregious abuse of power contradicts the principles of a peacekeeping force. By signing this petition, we can amplify our call for justice and assert our stand against all forms of police brutality.

Sign the petition today and join the movement to ensure our peacekeeping forces maintain a standard of conduct exemplifying integrity, compassion, and above all, respect for human life.
