Revoke this Taxi Drivers Licence for good to protect the passengers & drivers of Tamworth

The Issue

EDIT 02/03/2024

This is just a quick reminder that the hearing for the taxi driver is still being held on Wednesday 6th March at 6pm.

However, the venue has changed. It is now being held at

Marmion House
Lichfield Street
Tamworth
Staffordshire
B79 7BZ

Just come to the green door at the side opposite the Japanese restaurant.

EDIT

This driver is still on our roads and continues to cause trouble not only to his passenger but to the other Taxi drivers and road users.
This man has done everything from refusing to accept disabled passengers, holding, demanding money and being aggressive to people of all ages, crashing with young children and paying bribes to say the one crash wasn’t his fault.

The council are building a case and there is a hearing date set but unfortunately this is not until 6th March 2024.

This is a Public hearing however the public will be asked to leave at certain points. The hearing will be held in Tamworth Town Hall @ 6pm on the 6th of March.

He is still on the roads at least until then so we urge people to be careful and avoid getting in his taxi.

He is an independent driver and works of the Bolebridge Rank in Tamworth Town Centre.

My daughter experienced a terrifying ordeal in a taxi, driven by an individual who is already under investigation for various allegations. She was held in the vehicle on a dark country lane as the driver demanded money without any valid reason, and before reaching the agreed destination. Since sharing our story and reporting this to Tamworth Council, other victims have come forward with similar experiences involving this same taxi driver. Despite these allegations, no action has been taken yet; he continues to drive unsuspecting passengers around.

This situation raises serious concerns about passenger safety in our community. According to Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW), approximately 47% of all violent incidents occur during night-time hours (Office for National Statistics). This statistic underscores the potential danger that such unregulated activities can pose.

We are calling on Tamworth Council to take immediate action by suspending this taxi driver's license while official investigations are ongoing into these allegations against him. The safety of our community members should always be prioritized over any other considerations.

Please sign this petition if you believe that no one should fear for their safety while using public transportation services. Your support can make a real difference in ensuring that appropriate actions are taken swiftly against those who misuse their roles as service providers to exploit or harm others.
