Veterinarians are trusted to protect animals. That trust must be taken seriously.

In Northern California, a licensed vet was arrested on animal cruelty charges after police removed 17 dogs from her home. Some were reportedly malnourished and suffering from untreated medical issues. She denies the allegations, and the case is ongoing.

But until the investigation is complete, she should not be allowed to keep practicing.

Even the possibility that an animal care professional could harm animals is deeply troubling. Pet owners deserve confidence that licensed vets meet the highest standards of care and ethics.

We call on the California Veterinary Medical Board to suspend this veterinarian’s license until the investigation is resolved. This is a basic safeguard to prevent further harm and protect public trust.

This is not about assuming guilt. It is about ensuring no more animals are put at risk while serious allegations are addressed.

The dogs removed from her home deserve justice. So do the families who trust their pets to licensed professionals.
