For five years, my children have been part of the Prestige Dance Company community in Waverly, NY. It's a place where they learned not just dance, but also discipline, teamwork, and the joy of expressing themselves through art. The studio has been a second home to many families in our community, providing a safe and nurturing environment for our kids to grow and thrive.

However, recently our peace and security have been threatened. The studio, the one many of us trusted with our children's safety, had to shut its doors for a week. This drastic measure was taken because of ongoing threats and the lack of serious attention these threats have received. As a parent, the fear of sending my children to a place where their safety is not assured is overwhelming and unacceptable.

Hazy Daze, located nearby, is suspected to be related to the threat. Despite this, its operations continue without interruption. Until a thorough investigation is completed, it is crucial to suspend Hazy Daze’s license to prevent potential risks to our children and community.

The well-being of our children should always be the top priority, and allowing Hazy Daze to operate unchecked during this time of uncertainty undermines that priority. By temporarily suspending its license, we can ensure that precautionary measures are being taken seriously, signaling to residents that safety is paramount.

We call on Waverly officials to act swiftly and responsibly. Conduct a full investigation into the threats against Prestige Dance Company and suspend the business operations of Hazy Daze until the findings are clarified.
