Youtube’s Recommendation algorithm’s create an easy way to convert normal people into white nationalists, historical negationists, science denialists, and other kinds of conspiracy theorists. When someone on YouTube watches a video YouTube recommends similar videos. So if someone was to watch a Holocaust denial video YouTube will recommend more Holocaust denial videos to them.

The only way to solve this problem is for YouTube to change it’s recommendation algorithm to recognize content from white nationalists, historical negationists, science denialists, and other conspiracy theorists and to recommend videos of opposing view points to the viewer instead.

About a week ago I looked at a conspiracy theory  video, now my recommendations are full of more conspiracy videos. I myself know that the content of these videos are completely false but I also know how compelling the arguments these videos make are to someone who doesn’t know anything about the subject.
