As of Oct. 5th, the four men accused of the crime committed have been arrested. However, no other action has been taken due to false forensic reports from the Uttar Pradesh Police Department, which are trying to prove that Manisha was not raped at all. This is the same police department that cremated her body without the consent of the family.
There is currently a demand to have India's Central Bureau of Investigation to look into this case. The police chief and five senior police officers of the Uttar Pradesh Police Department have also been suspended from their duties due to the mishandling of this case.
