Over the years as a teacher teaching in a private school, I feel teachers in general, are not regarded in the society. Somehow, teachers in government schools are respected at least because they have a government job. However, teachers serving in private schools,  even after sacrificing all their productive phase of life for the children and learning community and equally put all their efforts and contribute to mould the future of the nation, hardly get any recognition or respect. Even when they are acknowledged for their role, it is just momentary. 

To bring a change of the society's perception toward teachers, had always been on my mind, but I couldn't find the right platform to voice it. Thanks to change.org, I can finally share my opinion to the world. 

For my message to be heard and transformed into action , I may need a massive number of signatories from around the world. Only then I plan to take the next step of forwarding this petition to key decision makers.
It may take eternity, but I want to make it happen, I want to be the change.

The teacher community will continue to serve the nation by moulding it's children. As such,  why not bring a change in their lives through  this small effort by signing the petition and acknowledge them with an official title to their names?

It is my humble appeal through this platform for the decision makers to acknowledge the contribution of teachers and accept the petition to address teachers all over the world with the official title - 'Tr' ; just as 'Dr.' for doctors, 'Prof.' for professors and 'Er.' for engineers etc.

So, yes, 'Tr.' for Teachers.
