Protect Unnao Rape case victim and give death penalty to Culprit.
Two years back, in 2017 a minor girl of 17 years old was raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, his brother and other accomplices in Unnao, a district in Uttar Pradesh state of India. She was raped multiple times in the house of Kuldeep Singh Sengar when she approached for seeking a job. An FIR was registered against the culprit and her statement was recorded in front of Juidicial Magistrate. In the statement, she narrated her ordeal for abduction and gang rape and also told that the police did not allow her to name her assailant.

In April 2018, the victim’s father was beaten when he confronted the MLA’s family and he was arrested in arms act case. Later the father died in judicial custody and post mortem reports tells that he had several injuries on his body. The girl also tried to immolate herself in front of residence of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, because police had not taken any action against her case.

This led to public outrage and FIR was registered against Mr. Sengar but the state government handed over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation. Later, the case was shifted to Allahabad high court and the culprit was arrested.

Recently on 28th July 2019, a truck with blackened number plate rammed the car in which the rape survivor, her lawyer and two of her aunts were travelling. The victim and her lawyer had serious injuries and are in critical condition, while her aunts died. The two of her relatives, who died in car accident, were key witnesses for Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) in victim’s rape case.

Clearly in this case, the voice for justice is being suppressed because the culprit is powerful and influential.

Today, Mr. Sengar who has been charged for gang rape, is booked for criminal conspiracy and murder.
The question is why is he not given a death sentence? The victim has already suffered so much for raising her voice against her case. The gang rape culprits should be hanged till death without any further delay in judiciary decisions.
Let's all of us together make a call and help her fight against injustice. If today she fails, we all Indians fail. Tomorrow again another rape victim would be afraid to fight her case because our lawmakers doesn’t have strict rules to safeguard women.
