Supporting the designation of a National Day of Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer.
Why this petition matters
Nearly 157 years ago, President Abraham Lincoln signed into law a proclamation for “The Day of Fasting, Humiliation, and Prayer," which is April 30th. He was inspired in part by Massachusetts Governor John Andrews. During that time, President Lincoln acknowledged God's presence and indicated as a nation we placed Him on the back burner. Now more than ever, prayer is desperately needed throughout our nation and should be reinstated as many individuals use it to cope with stressors of everyday life. How powerful would it be if all people were to abstain from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion? It is time to reach out to your elected officials and let your voices be heard to champion this historic proclamation once again.
Support this Legislation to be reinstated that was already passed by Abraham Lincoln. Join our movement, Loved by God and Holy Spirit Encounter as we encourage the Nation to reinstate President Lincolns original Bill for Prayer, Fasting and Humiliation.
