Cathy McMorris Rodgers is an influential American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Washington's 5th congressional district since 2005. As a senior-ranking woman in the Republican Party, she became the Chair of the House Republican Conference from 2013 to 2018. Prior to her congressional service, she served in the Washington House of Representatives for ten years, holding the position of Minority Leader for her final two years. McMorris Rodgers, born in 1969 in Oregon, holds a BA in Pre-law from Pensacola Christian College and an EMBA from the University of Washington.
