Ringette for us is more than just a sport; it is a life-enriching community that nourishes lifelong friendships, cultivates essential life skills, and promotes both physical and mental well-being. Unfortunately, Ringette Ontario's current team formation policy restricts this vision by limiting the number of competitive teams in our province.

Being a part of a competitive team is not just about winning; it's about learning to thrive in the face of challenges, understanding the value of hard work, and gaining the confidence to pursue goals passionately. Restricting this opportunity hinders the growth and development of our young athletes and is contrary to the very spirit of Ringette.

We are aware that balancing competitiveness with accessibility is a complex task. However, Ringette Ontario, as the governing body, has the capability and responsibility to promote a structure that equally fosters competitive spirit and inclusive participation.

We affirm that reviewing and modifying the current policy will not only impact the immediate future of Ringette in Ontario but also pave the way for a more vibrant, inclusive, and competitive landscape of our beloved sport. Lifelong friendships, life skills, and the physical and mental well-being of our kids are at stake here.

We request Ringette Ontario to heed the voices of its community and revise its team formation policy.
