Support Utah House Bill 390 on Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy for Veteran Mental Health
The Issue
Every day, up to 44 Veterans are lost to suicide and overdose — far more than were killed in military combat. This isn’t just a mental health crisis; it’s a failure of a healthcare system that hasn’t evolved, leaving many Veterans hopeless, isolated, and over-medicated.
With Utah home to one of the nation’s largest Veteran populations, we urge Utah lawmakers to pass House Bill 390 and for Governor Cox to sign it into law, authorizing a state-led clinical research study to expand access to psychedelic-assisted therapy for Veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Veterans are facing a mental health crisis.
Invisible wounds like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can devastate individuals, families, and futures; many Veterans do not get lasting relief from available treatments; and up to 44 Veterans are lost to suicide and overdose every day — far more than were killed in combat.
This isn’t just a mental health crisis; it’s a failure of a system that hasn’t evolved, leaving far too many Veterans feeling hopeless, isolated, and overmedicated.

House Bill 390
Developed in collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and public stakeholders, Utah House Bill 390 would allow the Huntsman Mental Health Institute at The University of Utah to conduct a state-led clinical study on psychedelic-assisted therapy for Veterans with treatment-resistant PTSD.
This bipartisan bill, sponsored by Rep. Jennifer Dailey-Provost (D) and Sen. Kirk Cullimore (R), is the first step in a broader effort to expand access to breakthrough treatments for this highly vulnerable, at-risk patient population and beyond.
Call to action
Sign this petition to support H.B. 390 and help bring new, responsible options to those who served. Your signature helps demonstrate that Utahns want pragmatic, bipartisan solutions, and that we will not accept the status quo when lives are on the line.
