Support Tye Johnson Fight for Justice in Louisiana
The Issue
To: Judge Cynthia Spadoni, Lafayette Parish Courthouse
District Attorney Donald Landry, Lafayette Parish
We, the undersigned, are writing to you in support of Tye Johnson, a prominent community activist and youth mentor from Natchitoches, Louisiana. Tye has tirelessly fought against injustices affecting vulnerable populations, only to find herself wrongfully accused and entangled in a web of deceit.
On December 25, 2021, Tye was tragically set up by individuals who intended her harm. This orchestrated attack was rooted in falsehoods propagated by Shauna Broussard, who misrepresented herself as a victim of sex trafficking. Despite Tye's efforts to assist those she believed were in need, it has come to light that Shauna's claims were merely a façade, further complicated by her perjury against D’kerian Thompson, which occurred in October 2021.
Tye Johnson's life has been profoundly affected by these events. The weight of these false accusations has led to a significant legal struggle that puts her freedom at risk. Tye deserves a chance to prove her innocence, yet she faces substantial hurdles due to the misleading narratives surrounding her case.
We are calling upon the community and people of Louisiana to take action. Join us in urging Judge Cynthia Spadoni and District Attorney Donald Landry to reconsider Tye's case in light of the truth. Each of your voices is vital in ensuring that justice prevails.
