Friends,
Yesterday something wonderful happened! The Australian Education Union (AEU), who represent almost 190,000 teachers and educators across Australia, put out a national statement in support of us school strikers for climate action!
“The AEU supports the democratic right of students to take direct action, giving voice to their real concerns about the impacts of climate change, and protesting the inaction by the federal government,”
Click here to see the full AEU statement and then share our graphic on social media to invite everyone to join us on March 15 for the #ClimateStrike.
The AEU is not alone in supporting young people like us taking action on the biggest threat to our generation. The majority of Australians want climate action too!
We now have the endorsement of almost 20 unions including the National Union of Workers, the Community and Public Sector Union, the Australian Services Union, United Voice, the National Tertiary Education Union, the General & Construction Division of the Construction Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (Vic/Tas), the Australian Nurses and Midwives Federation (Vic/Tas), Education International, a global federation of unions representing 30 million educators worldwide, Public Services International representing 20 million workers worldwide, and more.
Will you join us on March 15 to #ClimateStrike for a safe future?
Momentum is building! The community is on our side. Australians everywhere agree that the climate crisis requires our urgent attention. Now we need our politicians to deliver: 1. #StopAdani’s coal mine, 2. No New Fossil Fuels. 3. 100% Renewables by 2030. Our movement won’t stop anything short of climate justice.
See you on March 15 to tell our politicians that the time for talk is over.
And students - don’t forget to send in your permission note to let your school know you’ll be busy striking for the climate on March 15:

With hope,
The school strikers for climate action
