Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this petition. We achieved 6781 signatures in total from the two petitions in 7 weeks with the bulk coming in the first week. Once council had passed the motion to proceed, the petition slowed down which was to be expected. Thank you also for your comments - a selection of these was included in our first report to council to demonstrate public attitudes towards the rail trail and for your donations to change.org to promote the petitions more widely. Results of both online petitions plus our paper petition are being sent to council in our final report. Plans are well underway to launch NERT's Friends Group and we have many expressions of interest already. We will now be holding meetings in Armidale, Guyra and Glen Innes to sign up members.
