In the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk, disturbing posts surfaced from some in the medical community suggesting he “deserved it” simply because of his political opinions. Around the same time, news broke of a MAGA dentist who had previously deliberately hurt Democratic patients because of their political views.

These are not isolated incidents. They expose a terrifying reality: politics has crept into healthcare decisions. If providers can deny or sabotage care based only on who you vote for, no one is safe.

That is why the drafted Medical Blacklisting Prevention Act explicitly prohibits:

“Discriminatory Intent: Deliberate refusal to provide care due to biases related to race, gender, religion, political views, or other protected characteristics.” 

This protection is not theoretical. People are already being denied lifesaving care because of who they are — and even because of what they believe.
