Dear Supporter,

On behalf of Leading Young Women, Inc. and the Girls Academy for Leadership & Excellence (GALE) founding team, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for signing and sharing our petition in support of GALE.

Your signature was more than just a name on a list—it was a declaration of belief in the power of education, in equity, and in the importance of creating a school where young girls can lead, learn, and thrive. Because of you and hundreds of others who stood with us, we are proud to share that we have officially completed Phase One of the New Jersey charter school application process!

Here’s what’s next on our journey:

• We expect to receive a decision from the NJ Department of Education by May 19, 2025
• If approved, Phase Two application materials will be due by June 19, 2025
• Phase Three will take place in August 2025, when members of our founding team will participate in a formal interview
• Should all phases be successfully completed, we will be notified by September 2025 if GALE is approved to open in September 2026

We’re still early in this process, but we are moving forward with purpose—and your support continues to fuel us every step of the way.
