Support the commission of Prince Felix Yusupov Blue Plaque in Oxford

Support the commission of Prince Felix Yusupov Blue Plaque in Oxford

The Issue

Support the Oxford Russian Club’s campaign to have a blue plaque erected on 14 King Edward Street in Oxford, in memory of the house being the residence of its founder, Prince Felix Yusupov, during his student years almost 120 years ago.

Prince Felix Yusupov was a key figure in the Russian court, and married Irina Alexandrovna, a niece of Emperor Nicholas II. He was a student at University College from 1909 to 1913. After the Russian Revolution Felix and his wife lived the remainder of their lives in France.

The property now forms part of Oriel College, so this petition will be submitted to the governing body of the college for consideration.

In the images attached, the property in question is visible, as well as the proposed blue plaque itself, and a mock-up of how it would appear when in place.
