Franky Roberts had a long string of concerning conduct and criminal charges while he was a resident of Tanana. This eventually culminated in the killing of elder Francis Roberts. Franky was charged with murder but acquitted by a Healy area jury on claims he acted in self defense against the unarmed 75 year old.

Tanana is a small village with very limited law enforcement capacity, no mental health facility, and a growing elderly population. There is a petition before  tribal court asking for the banishment of Franky Roberts.

Tanana tribal members, and our extended tribal community that visits or has family in Tanana, including those who do not reside in Tanana, are impacted by safety issues in the village.  By signing this petition we are asking that the Tanana Tribal Court block Franky Roberts from being in Tanana, that they banish from this point forward anyone who facilitates him coming, and that this remain in place until such a time he demonstrates radical healing, contrition, and the ability to be safely and peacefully in community with others,
