The Issue

Welcome to The Monster’s Club.
My name is Federica Alice Carlino, and I’m the creator of The Monster’s Club.

I first created this story in 2017 as my thesis project at the New York Film Academy, with one dream in mind: to see it become a television series.

In 2019, I took the first real step toward that dream by filming a proof of concept. In 2020, I took the project through the festival circuit, where The Monster’s Club began finding its first audience. After completing its festival run, I released it publicly in 2021.

Then COVID happened.

Production stopped, but I wasn't ready to leave these characters or their story behind. During the pandemic, I began transforming The Monster’s Club into a novel, giving myself the opportunity to expand its world, its characters, their relationships, and the secrets connecting them.

And I still wasn't done.

In 2026, I returned to The Monster’s Club and filmed a brand new sizzle reel with Noah Andre and Hechan Da Silva, the actors I envision as Jackson and Colin.

And something exciting started happening.

After we released the sizzle reel, more people began discovering The Monster’s Club. They watched, commented, shared their reactions, their edits, asked questions and, most importantly, wanted to know what happens next. When we released our behind-the-scenes film, that interest grew even further.

The audience  is now asking for it too.

And that's why I'm starting this petition.

So, what is The Monster’s Club?
The Monster’s Club is a '90s coming-of-age mystery thriller about three teenage best friends, Jackson, Colin, and Erik (aka "Dumpster"), growing up in California in 1999.

When the boys enter a TV contest for the funniest home video offering a cash prize of $100.000, they come up with what seems like the perfect plan: steal their high school's werewolf mascot costume, take it into the woods, scare unsuspecting people, film their reactions, and submit the footage.

With the alibi of having a sleepover at Jackson's house, they are now finally in the woods.

Their first two attempts are successful.

Erik, now nervous about getting caught by his parents, wants to call it a night. But Jackson pressures him into finishing what they started, and Erik reluctantly agrees to one last prank.

But their final prank goes horribly wrong.

Erik is shot by a hunter.

Jackson makes the decision to run, dragging Colin away with him and leaving their friend behind.

They believe they've gotten away with what happened.

Thirty years later, Jackson has built an entirely different life for himself. Then a mysterious VHS tape arrives at his home.

On it is the recording of that night.

He knows who sent it.

And he has waited thirty years to make him face it.

But the mystery of that night is only part of The Monster’s Club. At its heart, this is a story about friendship, first love, family, identity, growing up, and the choices we make when we're young that can follow us for the rest of our lives.

It's also a love letter to the late '90s: a world before smartphones and social media, when secrets were harder to uncover and a VHS tape could hold something no one was supposed to see.

Why am I starting this petition?
I want to tell the complete story as a television series.

To do that, The Monster’s Club needs the support of producers, production companies, networks, and other industry partners who believe in its potential.

This petition is our opportunity to turn the support surrounding The Monster’s Club into something tangible.

Every signature helps us show the entertainment industry that there is an audience waiting for this story.

If you've watched the sizzle reel and wanted to know what happens next, if you've read the book and want to see these characters come alive on screen, if you discovered us through the behind-the-scenes film, or if you're meeting The Monster’s Club for the first time today and simply believe this story deserves a chance, please add your name.

Almost ten years after I first created The Monster’s Club, I'm still chasing the same dream I had in 2017.

Only now, I'm not chasing it alone.

Sign the petition and help us bring The Monster’s Club to television.

Welcome to the Club.
