Support stray cats in our community
The Issue

Living in our community has brought to light the heartbreak of seeing so many abandoned animals, especially stray cats who roam the streets without a home. For those of us who witness these innocent creatures suffer, it becomes a personal mission to make a change. I myself feed 14 stray cats using my Supplemental Security Income (SSI), because I know they rely on us to survive. My own cats are my companions, and some of the strays I care for were once part of my family, I gave them up for adoption in the hope they would find a better life. It breaks my heart when they are abandoned again, left to fend for themselves.
Just recently, in April, I witnessed something unimaginable—a car driving by, and a person literally threw a cat out the window right in front of me and two other people. Before Christmas, someone drove down our alleyway and hit a cat, cruelly leaving her paralyzed without a second thought. These are not isolated incidents; they are part of the harsh reality faced by many strays here every single day.
Abandonment and cruelty towards animals is a societal problem that needs to be addressed immediately. According to the ASPCA, approximately 3.2 million cats enter U.S. animal shelters annually, with only 2.1 million being adopted. These staggering statistics highlight the importance of taking action to protect these vulnerable animals. By creating more awareness, implementing local policies to penalize abandonment, and encouraging community support for stray animal programs, we can provide these animals with the care and homes they deserve.
In order to tackle this issue positively, we propose the establishment of community-supported programs that focus on the spaying and neutering of stray cats, as well as the creation of safe, humane shelter options. Additionally, implementing stricter penalties for those who abandon or harm animals will send a strong message that cruelty has no place in our community.
Your support is crucial to improving the lives of these innocent cats. By signing this petition, you can help advocate for changes that will make our community a safer and more compassionate place for all animals. Please join me in this endeavor to end the cycle of neglect and ensure that every cat has a chance at a better life.
*A New Update)
Just here 2 days ago someone dropped off 3 kittens with a note that read they are bout 5 weeks old, admits there was a third that they kept, said they didn't want them in their garage anymore, absolutely beautiful babies, 2 are twins, chunky but have watery eyes & a little sneeze from dehydration, the other one is a little girl, so skinny her whole face was sealed shut, all these babies wanted were their mumma and to suckle, we didn't have the mumma and they didn't want to take the kitten bottles...short story, they are eating wet kitten food with formula...they were so so hungry & so bad looking it broke my heart so bad. This right here is why I made this petition, no cat is safe from being abandoned not even kittens...No matter how old they are, They are never safe from being a stray & being abandoned.
Please please share, and help as many as you can, I know its hard but its harder to watch them suffer because of people cruelty 🩵🙏❤️
