The Issue

Her Voice Project is calling on the Irish government to introduce statutory  leave for people suffering from endometriosis and adenomyosis — two chronic, debilitating conditions that affect thousands across the country.

Every day, individuals with these conditions are forced to endure severe pain, fatigue, and other life-disrupting symptoms, often in silence and without adequate workplace support. It’s time to change that.

Countries like Portugal, Spain, Japan, and Indonesia have already recognised the need for menstrual leave policies. Ireland must follow their lead. No one should have to choose between their health and their job

This petition urges the government to implement compassionate, evidence-based legislation that reflects the realities of those living with endometriosis and adenomyosis.
