Small Businesses continue to suffer without assistance  since the 2022 Calf Canyon/Hermits Peak Fire, and recent flooding (a cascading event.) A fire started due to the negligence of our Federal Government. 

With decrease in population, dwindling workforce, forced closures, insurance increases FEMA has done nothing to address the mounting hardships of small businesses in San Miguel and Mora Co.

Without immediate action and economic stimulus & development the future of our communities are in jeopardy.

The amount of money FEMA is offering commercial businesses for smoke damage is downright insulting. Las Vegas NM is home to the largest quantity of historic buildings PER CAPITA in the United States of America. Fema is not taking into consideration the Historic and Cultural value of our commercial properties; these buildings are part of our cultural identity and legacy.

Business owners are frustrated and exhausted. 
We need to be heard and we need assistance before we lose our businesses.
