Support seafarers against carrying weapons on ships
The Issue
In the heart of our vast oceans, seafarers navigate challenging and often perilous conditions. For those of us in the FSUI community and beyond, sailing has always been about adventure, discovery, and the honor of safe and peaceful passage. Over the years, we’ve built our lives around this unique calling, holding dearly to the ethos that our voyage should bring hope and goods, never violence and despair.
Today, we find ourselves faced with a daunting challenge. As global tensions rise, there is increasing pressure on our industry to transport arms, turning our vessels into conduits of conflict rather than solutions for peace. This is not the legacy we want to support or pass on. It is a betrayal of everything we believe in. We refuse to be pawns in the machinery of war, dictated by profit margins instead of human values.
We have a clear message: We will not allow bullets, bombs, or missiles on our ships. We will not sail under arrangements that jeopardize the lives of children, civilians, or fellow seafarers. War is not our cargo. We choose to sail to save lives, not to sell death.
FSUI, representing our community of seafarers, calls upon industry leaders, shipping companies, and government authorities to acknowledge our stance. We envision maritime routes being used for humanitarian, life-affirming missions—not for the proliferation of arms and ammunition. We call for a commitment to international partnerships focused on sustainable and peaceful solutions.
Here's how you can help: Raise awareness by sharing this petition with your networks. Voice your support to those in decision-making positions. Stand with us to ensure the maritime industry remains a pillar of peace, not a participant in conflict.
Your support can make a difference. Please sign this petition and unify with seafarers worldwide who choose peace over destruction. Together, we can shift the tides toward a more harmonious world. Sign this petition to help create meaningful change.
