Support SC Senators in passing Heartbeat Bill
The Issue
Tuesday, September 10th 2019, South Carolina senators held a meeting to see if South Carolina should join other states in passing the Heartbeat Bill. Heartbeat abortion bills have been passed in recent years in Louisiana , Georgia , Kentucky , Mississippi and Ohio . Missouri approved a ban on abortions after eight weeks of pregnancy and Alabama lawmakers simply outlawed all abortions. This bill will protect the lives of unborn children, in today's time there is plenty of ways to prevent unwanted pregnancy and options to take if unprotected sex were to happen.
I know there is many arguments as to why it shouldn't be approved and one of the arguments is rape. When it comes to rape the bible says “Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin” (Deuteronomy 24:16, NKJV). With today's medical advancements there is plenty of ways to get help medically, emotionally and to receive physical care after rape cases. We as humans can not keep saying it is a women's right to do what she wants to her body when we are saying unborn children who has a beating heart just like ours has no protection. We fight to keep people alive who have harmed themselves but we can not even protect children, who are the most innocent thing left on this earth.
My final plea is to please think of these babies. I know there is many causes in life that makes it hard for someone to be pregnant and they can not care for a child properly in life. But those babies didn't ask for this to happen to them and there is plenty of loving people who would do anything to become parents. I really hope we can come together as a family and reach enough people to show our support in this bill.
