Hello dear reporters of Channel 10

As you are covering the developments of this dreadful case I want to urge you to ask your viewers to support my petition.

I have been completely distraught, and disheartened by the events of this past Sunday Nov 25th. I have written this petition to the florida State legislature, copying all the Florida State Senators, and State House Representatives of the districts in south Florida with the most concentration of cyclist. My hope is that if you are a cyclist, pedestrian, or even a motorist to count with your support to effect a change in Florida law by showing these state legislators how important it is that you are safe while on the road.

We need to ensure that this tragedy will be the last that we see happen in Florida and more so we need to ensure that the law and educational mechanism for future generations of both drivers and cyclist are in place to prevent and if needed rightfully prosecute these type of events.

this petition was created tonight and within a few minutes we reached over 1000 supporters. We have reach out to NGO, and lobbying firms, as well as county and state officials to help us support this change. We hope to hear from the state legislators as soon as they are able.

We are asking for:
A safe passing distant and speed.
The banning of “handheld” cellular devices while operating a motor vehicle. (You will still use your sulfone through your cars bluetooth system but not with your hands while you are the driver)
The treatment of these violation with the severity of a DIU.
