Support Quakertown Police Chief Scott McElree
The Issue
Quakertown Police Chief Scott McElree has dedicated his life to supporting and serving our community with integrity and commitment. Now, more than ever, Chief McElree needs our support.
On February 20, 2026, students from Quakertown Community High School walked off of campus to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions.
The protest moved into the streets of Quakertown and turned into a physical confrontation between students and police after police responded to reports of vandalism.
McElree responded to the situation and tried to detain a student, who did not comply. This then sparked a struggle with several teenagers.
Several students were seen beating McElree and several other officers, and are now facing aggravated assault charges.
During the altercation, McElree suffered serious injuries including facial and rib injuries.

Chief McElree has always served as an essential pillar and Quakertown community member. Serving two roles within our community, Chief was always around. He’s always been here for us. He’s always been here for our children.
Every event QPD has held, you’d find Scott there chatting with our community members. Quakertown has always been an epicenter for peaceful protests. We have held many of them recently, many of them even surpassing 1000 participants. At these protests, Scott would regularly come out and speak with the protesters. He’s always cared about what his community has had to say and what they were passionate about. At one of our Black Lives Matter protests, Scott was out there engaging with our community members and listening to their thoughts and concerns. His constant and active involvement within the community was nothing out of the ordinary.

He’s never missed the Shop with A Cop event for our local youth, which is one of the biggest in the area. The smiles on their faces show the joy he’s brought children to our community for many years.

Scott has even won awards for his community service and involvement in and around Quakertown. He takes his position seriously and it’s obvious it’s something he loves and is truly passionate about. Before this, you would have never been able to find anything negative about Scott. It just simply doesn’t exist.

He loves his community and we love him. 90% of the people calling for action in his termination aren’t even part of our community.
Under Chief’s leadership, the police department has increased transparency and accountability, fostering trust and cooperation between officers and the community they serve. These achievements are verifiable through an improvement in community satisfaction over recent years.
Despite these successes, Chief McElree faces challenges and recent criticism that threaten to undermine his efforts. In an era where police departments across the nation are under intense scrutiny, it's crucial to stand behind leaders who exemplify the principles of justice and community service. Removing or undermining Chief McElree could jeopardize the progress made in Quakertown towards a more united community.
Support for Chief McElree means advocating for effective community policing that benefits everyone. We urge community leaders, business owners, and residents to come together in recognizing and continuing to support his outstanding work and love for his community.
Join us in showing support for Chief McElree by signing this petition! It’s time we demand justice for Chief McElree, and for the criminals that assaulted him to be prosecuted.
