Support prevention, treatment, and addiction recovery policy for communities across Texas!
The Issue
Every 4 minutes, someone in the U.S. dies from an overdose or alcohol-related cause – the equivalent of a jumbo jet crashing every day with no survivors.
- 22 million Americans are suffering
- 23 million more are in recovery
- 1 in 3 Texas households are directly impacted
We, Texans in recovery and community organizations serving people in recovery, are proof that recovery works. Addiction and alcoholism are preventable, treatable chronic illnesses which require comprehensive policy. We are grateful the Texas 85th Legislation has prioritized this public health concern with Interim charges for both the House Select Committee and the Senate.
We are people and communities across Texas in recovery and our voices matter. We must proudly support our Legislators efforts to bring forth policy which offer community-based solutions, consider continuum of care approaches to addiction through prevention, treatment, and recovery, and provide additional funding in Texas to address the needs we know exist.
We are people and families supporting Texans in recovery. We are organizations committed to creating change and ending the impact of addiction on Texas. Please join us by signing this petition to show our legislators our support as they embark on the task of prioritizing our public health crisis of addiction in Texas.
Sincerely,
Texans Supporting Addiction Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery
