The issue

For over six years, our Samford Valley Containers for Change community recycling centre has been a cornerstone of local community support and environmental sustainability. Proudly serving the region, we found what we believed was our permanent home in Chesney Lane. Our vital service is now under threat due to the Body Corporate and Moreton Bay Council changing their stance on allowing us to operate at this site. We are now asking for your support to ensure the continuation of our service in this location.

Operating in Samford Valley for only 12 hours a week, last financial year processing over 4.5 million containers, we refunded over $450,000, most being spent locally, bolstering the local economy. Our service has provided a source of financial relief to many in need and is having a tangible impact on litter and waste in our beautiful valley. Furthermore, by supporting local charities and community groups, we've helped raise over $100,000 and we have created 13 jobs crucial for local employment.

We call on everybody to assist us in upholding the values of community support and environmental stewardship that our centre embodies. It's critical that we all align our actions with the community's needs and values, ensuring the longevity of the centre.

Join us to show your support for our Samford Valley Containers for Change community recycling centre by signing this petition. Your support is crucial in demonstrating the community's commitment to local groups and charities, economic support, local jobs and environmental sustainability. Stand with us and allow our social enterprise to complete the vision and deliver the world class community recycling centre that Samford Valley deserves.

Please sign this petition and share it with everyone who values this service or cares about this community’s right to have access to it.
