Our names are Richard and Thara and we are passionate pet lovers living in South Granville NSW, Australia. This petition is an earnest appeal to overturn the obstacles that stand in the way of our dream to open a pet sitting business right in our home.

We love dogs and get immense joy from spending time with these four-legged friends. Unfortunately, our ambition to convert our passion into a service for the wider pet-owning community is being curtailed by the current scenario of animosity from our neighbours' tenants. This particular neighbour is  constantly complaining to Cumberland council raising a fake complaint stating dog barking noise .The council now says that its illegal to operate a pet sitting business from home and we need to stop and if not we will be fined $5000+. The Council didn't approach our premises with any PROOF to support the complaint. Even though our dogs don't make noise or they are saying that our dogs are continuously barking. Our visiting dogs are out in the garden in our presence for not more than 30 Minutes a day and rest of the time they are indoor . We never had dogs who bark loud as we work from home and noise is an issue for us too  . I have enquired with our other neighbours and they have no complaints regarding the visiting dogs or in us doing pet sitting . This particular neighbour who is creating issues  is constantly filming our premises which i feel is a violation of our privacy .We feel harassed and bullied for no fault of ours. This seems to be a clear case of  jealousy and I'm not sure why we have to suffer because of Council's inability to understand. We are in extreme trauma because our life is being controlled in an unacceptable manner and council instead of validating the complaint,they are torturing us .

Pet sitting is more than just a business for us; it is a compassionate endeavor to provide a safe, loving environment for pets when their owners have to be away. We have 2 dogs of our own too so its great for them to socialise with other pets too. 

We believe that our residential area can coexist harmoniously with such a business venture with mutual respect and understanding. It is pivotal to note that our proposed pet sitting business will strictly adhere to the state’s laws and regulations concerning noise control, waste management, and limit of animals.
