Asian Health Services (AHS) and East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) appreciate all of you who been able to as organizations and/or individuals sign onto our petition for the Oakland Chinatown Transit Village at the MTC Building, also known as “#saveoakchinatown”. Between hardcopy and online petitions we’ve collected over 1,100 signatures in a few weeks. We couldn’t have done it without the community support, and there’s still a lot of work to do.
We'll be mobilizing a presence at the NEXT BART Board Meeting on Thursday April 14th 9am to Noon at the 344 20th Street (3rd Floor), the entrance is on the Webster side of the corner between the CVS and 24 Hour Fitness Entrances.
Please come and stand with us at the upcoming April 14th meeting to put pressure on the BART Leadership to not block the sale. We want to pack the room to show the BART Board the strength of our resolve to ensure our community vision is taken so that the land that was once Chinatown’s can be given back with community space, programming and services provided. We understand Thursdays can be busy so whatever time you all could be there would help, especially in the beginning.
If you have any questions, you can reach out to Mike Lok mlok@ahschc.org
In the meantime, it would be great if you could continue to publicize the petition by emailing it to your networks and on your personal/organization’s social media:

Tweet Language:
"Support a thriving #Oakland Chinatown Lake Merritt BART Transit Village. Sign the petition: http://tinyurl.com/zgdrdkz #saveoakchinatown"
The more Likes, Shares, Tweet/ReTweets can help us build up more momentum by Thursday.
Thanks everyone!
