Hello supporters!

We are down to the wire!  Ojai City Council will be ratifying the decision to use the Public Works Yard (PWY) as the site for the Cabin Village project.  There has been, and still is, a very small but powerful lobby trying to derail the project, by attempting to relocate the building to the 8 acre city hall park, by proposing a site plan with false and erroneous arguments.  They plan to derail the project by demanding a feasibility study on the city site, causing further delay and risking the cancellation of the project. One council member seems to be buying into this approach.  Putting the Cabin Village on the city site will likely derail the Green Coalitions plans for the 8 care site.

We are not sure that the majority of council will vote to support the PWY.  We likely have two firm votes of support, but need a minimum of three to pass the motion.  If any of you are in District 1, Leslie Rule’s district, please reach out directly to her to voice your support.  Her email is leslie.rule@ojai.ca.gov.

The agenda is out for this critical March 25th council meeting. It contains an 800 page Administrative Report on the project. It reflects the thought, effort, and expansive analysis the city has put into this.

Please support the cause this one last time (hopefully) by:

  1. Writing a public comment letter/email of support to council.  Send your email to the City Clerk by 3pm Monday 24th.
  2. Attend in person at 6pm at Kent Hall, fill out a speakers card and speak to support the PWY.
  3. If you cannot attend, but want to be heard, you can join the meeting via Zoom, raise your hand to speak.  You will be called upon at the appropriate time by the city clerk and asked to unmute and talk.  Details for  the zoom meeting are provided in the agenda.  The link is below:

For the more thorough (800 page) analysis, here is the link to the Administrative Report. Due to its size you may have to download it first:
