Ever since I discovered the amazing work that Newcastle upon Tyne’s content creators are doing, I've been an avid supporter. These creators shine a light on the beauty, challenges, and the diverse happenings of our city centre. With the police able to film for the Geordie Cops TV series, it seems only fair that local content creators, like Ballymore Tom and Tin Tin, should also have the freedom to share their unique and authentic viewpoints without facing unnecessary council interference.

Content creators play a crucial role in our community. They help spread awareness about issues that often go unnoticed, like the struggles of the homeless, while also highlighting the positive and vibrant aspects of Newcastle life that can bring joy to many. Their work not only informs but inspires residents to take action, fostering a sense of community and empathy.

It's concerning to learn that these creators face hurdles from the council when all they wish to do is document their surroundings and contribute positively to our community. By allowing them the freedom to share their content, we encourage a more informed and connected Newcastle.

Moreover, while the police can film for a television series that sometimes highlights the negatives, content creators offer diverse perspectives that can balance out the narrative. Their content is invaluable, showcasing both the good and the bad authentically, and shouldn't be stifled.

Therefore, we urge the Newcastle Council to reconsider their stance and support these valuable members of our community by allowing them to freely document and share their content. This not only enriches viewers' lives but also encourages broader civic engagement and dialogue around social issues affecting our city.

Join me in supporting our local content creators so they can continue doing what they do best: shining a spotlight on Newcastle's myriad stories. Please sign this petition to help keep their voices heard and their contributions recognised.
