The Issue

Thank you for your support.  We have a small group of neighbors in the Bayshore Neighborhood who started a petition to change the noise ordinance in Walton County which will impact our ability to produce our shows.

In 2021, we partnered with the local community to bring the Moon Crush Music Vacation to life in Miramar Beach, FL. Since then, we’ve welcomed Grammy-winning and multi-platinum artists like Luke Combs, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, The Black Crowes, Lauren Daigle, Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Styx, Old Dominion, and many more to this beautiful part of Florida—during shoulder seasons in April, May, October, and November.

This isn’t your typical music festival. Moon Crush was designed for adults 40+, with 80% of our guests traveling from out of state and staying an average of 3.5 nights. These visits bring over 30,000 guests annually, generating millions of dollars in spending at local restaurants, short-term rentals, and small businesses.

We’ve proudly created a new category of music vacation that has been featured in outlets like The Wall Street Journal and NPR for our thoughtful approach to creating an intimate  "no line" festival environment for adults.

We hire approximately 200 residents (some from the Bayshore neighborhood) contributing over $150,000 in local wages per weekend.  We have hosted 15 weekends in the last 5 years and have received overwhelming support from the community with only a handful of complaints.

We also believe in being good neighbors and over the past six months, we’ve worked closely with residents of the Bayshore neighborhood to understand how sound carries during our shows. We hosted a town hall in March to share our plans for this year and the future.  Based on that feedback, we have:

  • Lowered the maximum decibel levels by ~10dB (from the industry standard of 100db to ~90db)
  • Raised speaker height to point speakers at an angle vs horizontal to reduce carry
  • Conducted live sound checks while driving the neighborhood to identify sound corridors and frequencies
  • Hosted neighbors as our guests at the shows so they could hear the sound in the venue
  • Provided discounted tickets for them to bring friends and family
  • Shared updates via email

Despite strong winds from the south and low cloud cover during our shows this spring which carry sound further, we have received encouraging feedback from many neighbors who noticed an improvement and we will continue to make adjustments for our upcoming fall shows.  We are adding delay towers around the side and back of the venue in September to better contain our sound footprint.

Beginning November 30, 2025 we are re-positioning the stage to face east and re-grading the venue with more slope to reduce sound impact even further.

We are grateful for the opportunity to bring people together through music, to support our local workforce, and to help shoulder-season tourism thrive in Miramar Beach.

If you believe in the value of what we’re doing—for the community, the economy, and the joy it brings—please sign this petition to show your support.

Let’s keep the music playing, together.
