Support Miguel's Fresh Jerky at Hwy 160 & Gamebird
The Issue
For over 23 years, Miguel's Fresh Jerky, also known as The Honey/Jerky Stand, has been a beloved part of our community, located at the corner of Hwy 160 & Gamebird. Owned and operated by Miguel and Maria Castro, this mobile stand has been a weekend staple, inviting locals and travelers alike to enjoy the finest fresh jerky and honey products. Despite its significance and success, the future of this cherished stand is now under threat.
Miguel and Maria have worked tirelessly to maintain the RV-based business three days a week—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—providing high-quality products and friendly service to their loyal customers. Three years ago, recognizing the need for stability and growth, they made the significant decision to purchase property, intending to continue serving the community and expand their offerings.
However, unforeseen challenges now threaten their ability to operate in their longstanding location. Bureaucratic hurdles, property regulations, or local ordinances might hinder their business, potentially stripping our community of this iconic stand. Over the years, the stand has not just been a place to buy products but a social hub where friendships are fostered, and a source of joy and economic support for Miguel and Maria.
We believe in safeguarding local businesses and preserving the character and vibrancy they contribute to our area. Supporting Miguel's Fresh Jerky is not just about standing up for one small business owner—it's about preserving a piece of our community's identity and supporting the hardworking spirits behind it.
Join us in taking a stand to protect Miguel's Fresh Jerky. Let us rally together as a community and show our support against the obstacles threatening its survival. Sign this petition to demonstrate our collective will to keep this beloved stand operating at Hwy 160 & Gamebird. Together, we can make a difference in ensuring Miguel and Maria continue to share their passion and products with all of us.
