In just two weeks, the Madison common council will be voting to fund eight more police officer positions and three squad cars. We need 15 alders to vote yes. The vote can go either way. Lobbying for more Madison cops has been a long ride that started this past fall - props for being on it with me - and we're so close to the finish line. But the hard truth is this: If those of us who live, work, or play in Madison don't tell Mayor Soglin & the alders that we want our money to fund more police officers, our chances of a win will be greatly reduced. I know you don't want this and I know you love our PD. They're ALWAYS there for you, night and day, but now they need YOU. A big thanks to those of you who've already contacted the mayor & council. If you haven't, please strongly consider writing to the mayor and council. You can use our easy-peasy form to send your letter. Whether or not you've sent your letter, please share this. http://www.supportmadisonpolice.com/write-to-mayor-soglin-madison-common-council-urging-them-to-vote-yes-on-alder-skidmores-resolution-to-fund-more-cops/ One click is all it takes to make a difference. Please take a moment to send this important letter. Thanks. --Paula Fitzsimmons paula@supportmadisonpolice.com
