Prospects for funding of more Madison cops are indeed looking more favorable. If you don't believe me, check out David Blaska's post: https://davidblaska.com/2017/11/02/city-council-hears-madison-say-more-police/
I'm convinced this wouldn't even be a remote possibility if there weren't good people with good sense speaking out. Hugs and thanks if you've already written to Mayor Soglin & common council. If not, please do it as soon as possible, then share this link.

The common council can deliberate on a budget for 2018 as soon as next Monday, November 13th. Alder Paul Skidmore is planning to introduce another amendment (the last one failed) that would allow for more funding for MPD.
As incredibly grateful as I am for the people who help us advocate for MPD, there aren't nearly enough of you doing it. The only way we're going to be able shepherd change is if a large group of caring people speak out.
We can't succumb to fear & apathy - too much is at stake.
