The Issue

My name is [Jeremy Bonner], and for the past 14 years, I have been serving a 32-year sentence. Throughout these years, I have committed myself to personal growth, rehabilitation, and exemplary conduct. My journey has not been easy, but I have worked tirelessly to transform my life while incarcerated. I've taken part in numerous rehabilitation programs and have made the most of every opportunity for self-improvement, even though I have not been eligible for earned time credits under the First Step Act. Despite this, I've accumulated 6.5 years of credits, manifesting my relentless pursuit of redemption.

Having already served over a decade of my sentence, my conduct and rehabilitation progress have not gone unnoticed. I was commended for my extraordinary conduct and institutional adjustments by my sentencing judge during my latest compassionate release motion. This recognition fuels my belief that my efforts should count toward a reduction in my sentence as I continue to prove my commitment to change.

Importantly, my risk of recidivism is low, as evidenced by my pattern score. This further demonstrates my readiness to re-enter society as a responsible and contributing citizen. Yet, the reality is that despite my transformation and the progress I have demonstrated, my full potential is hindered by a system that has not recognized my hard-earned accomplishments.

By supporting my petition for a sentence reduction, you are advocating for a justice system that accounts for personal growth and change. A system that acknowledges the efforts made by individuals to rehabilitate themselves and that believes in second chances for those who have demonstrably changed for the better.

Please sign this petition to support this cause and help send a message to the authorities to consider my dedication and efforts for a potential sentence reduction. Together, we can advocate for a more just and humane system that values rehabilitation and redemption.
