support Iranian Protesters and Human Rights for Iran
The Issue
For the past 40 years the Iranian regime has taken its Nation and its people hostage. The regime imprisons, kills, and tortures its citizens in the name of religion and in different ways. Recently many people, who have grown tired of dire economic conditions and government’s ineffective response and rampant corruption, have started peaceful protests. However, these protests have been met with violence and killing close to 2000 people, including women and children, and detaining and imprisonment around 7000. The government was able to cut down the channels of communication to outside world by shutting down the Internet in order to continue its brutal clamp down of the protests while the rest of the world is unaware of the situation inside the country.
We, the undersigned are concerned about the conditions of people of Iran and prisoners are requesting the following:
1. Help people of Iran to communicate, as they continue to change the regime, by providing Internet access inside the country.
2. Apply pressure to European countries to persuade them against economic trades with the regime that violate the human rights of its own people.
3. Hold the regime accountable to provide a humane treatment of detainees and report an accurate account of their numbers and conditions. These are thousands that are at the risk of imminent torture or execution.
4. Hold the regime accountable to accurately report the number of executions and mass killings and prisoners.
5. Impose sanctions on government officials and their families who travel freely in and out of the country. Currently, many of their families live abroad with impunity.
Finally, the Iranian people are yearning to join the rest of the world and coexist in peace and harmony. We wish peace and blessings for the Iranian people and the world.
