Did you know that selling a ticket for more than $2.00 above face value is illegal in Massachusetts?

By criminalizing the sale of tickets for $2.00 above face value, Massachusetts fans are unable to realize the tremendous benefits of the modern ticket resale market.

Instead of a fair, open, and consumer-protected secondary ticket market, the law banning ticket resale for more than $2.00 above face value moves resale away from the internet, where well-known and respected companies guarantee their products and offer refunds, to the streets and alleys surrounding venues where there are no consumer protections and fans are consistently sold fraudulent tickets.

The law is out-of-touch and must be repealed!

HB 237, introduced by Rep. Michael Moran (D-Brighton) would repeal this law and allow Massachusetts consumers the chance to realize the benefits of deregulating the resale market.
